RANI has been implementing this program inNaogaon Paurashava of Naogaon District since January 2012 under the Department of Woman Affairs, Ministry of Woman and Child Affairs, Government of Bangladesh. Under this program total 800 lactating mothers are being benefited as direct beneficiary. Each of these beneficiaries is given a sum of taka 350 per month. Each mother will enjoy this benefit for a period of two years. RANI mainly provides the awareness training to the selected beneficiaries on different issues.
Target beneficiary: Target beneficiary of this program are women who
(a) Are working
(b) Are pregnant or lactating mother
(c) Have children less than 2 years
(d) Have maximum two children
(e) Are permanent resident of the paurashava
The major targets of this program are
- To create awareness and provide assistance to reduce pregnant and infant mortality rate
- Encourage and train the beneficiaries for breast feeding their children
- Ensure optimum care for mothers and provide support with financial assistance
- Assist the beneficiaries to have the ante-natal and post-natal care
- Create awareness on EPI and family planning issues
- Create awareness against dowry, divorce, negative impacts of early marriage
- Create awareness and provide assistance on birth registration, marriage registration
